A taste of summer

Well, it's May 14th, 7:30 in the evening and 33 (91 for yankees) degrees outside. The house is sweltering. There will be no rest tonight.
Solution: a glass of ice cold Prosecco, have moved all work to the hammock branch of our office outside and am trying not to make sudden movements.

A normal life begins

Joel has been home for about three weeks now. The weather has been beautiful - though a little windy and Joel has spent every possible minute out on one of his (3) bikes. We've had a steady stream of house guests and have hosted half a dozen impromptu BBQs with our growing circle of friends here. It's starting to feel more like a home all the time.

I have a couple more weeks of school left at the Academy of Art for this semester. It's been fun so far. Not quite as challenging as I'd like but it's still good experience and I'm learning things I will use and tucking things away for my portfolio. I'm also meeting people and getting to explore the city on my own.

Our plans to go to Europe this summer have been put on hold to fund my uber expensive education which we're bummed about but it's also nice to just spend some time exploring where we are.
